ere shall be found Burk's Peerage and Knightage, the authoritative and official General, Genealogical and Heraldic Almanac of the Royals, Nobles, Peers, and Knights of the Kingdom of Talossa. Burk's definitively documents the many Talossan worthies hitherto omitted from Debrett's Peerage & Baronetage, the Genealogisches Handbuch des Adels, and the Almanach de Gotha.

listing in Burk's is an honour granted to distinguished Talossan citizens who have been elevated by knighting or a patent of nobility. Burk's Peerage is the latest in a long and distinguished line of peerage reference works stretching back to Selden's Titles of Honour, first published in 1614.

PROPER FORMS OF ADDRESS

Personages of rank should be treated with respect, and proper address should be the first respect to be offered.

When making introductions, honour is recognized by the name spoken first. In Talossa as in other places, courtesy gives honour to those who are older, higher in rank, titled, have a professional status, or are female. Entire tomes have been written on protocol and courtly etiquette, so the advice below is a starting point. Citizens are encouraged to broaden their own knowledge through further study.
